I have no land or family, so the governance of people genuinely bound to a nation isn’t my immediate concern. I’m at a stage of becoming a wealth and value creator, observing international and national political orders and focusing on understanding how power and security actually operate is more my interest.
In practice, I vote with my feet, dollar, attention, and behavior.
This is one reason that I live in Hong Kong. Prior to Hong Kong I lived in Australia where I would have to convert my hard won USD into AUD with a transaction fee and fluctuating (mostly declining) rate. Hong Kong’s monetary policy has HKD trading within a narrow band of 7.75 to 7.85 per USD, in practice this has made the exchange rate extremely stable.
